YAYASAN KELAB-KELAB ROTARY MALAYSIA (Company No. 145251-H)
Yayasan Kelab-Kelab Rotary Malaysia is the Foundation of Rotary Clubs in Malaysia, including Rotary Clubs in the Malaysian States of RI District 3310 (Melaka, Johor, Sarawak, Sabah and
Labuan FT). Membership of Yayasan Kelab-Kelab Rotary Malaysia has been limited to a maximum of 50 and at 26th Annual General Meeting, three non-Past District Governors were
elected as Directors for the first time.
History
• Initiated in 1983/84 by the then District Governor of District 330 PDG Dr. Philbert Chin of Singapore.
• Incorporated on 24 September 1985 as District 330 Foundation.
o District 330 Foundation was split into two when the district was split into District 3300 and District 3310. The name for the Foundation incorporating all Rotary Clubs in
Malaysia was changed to Rotary Foundation Malaysia on 14 November 1991.
o This was necessary as Yayasan Kelab-Kelab Rotary Malaysia has a tax exempt status only applicable to Malaysian Rotary Clubs.
o On 12 December 1997 the Foundation was renamed Yayasan Kelab-Kelab Rotary Malaysia.
Who was Tan Sri Dato’ Abdul Jamil Rais
• Civil Servant.
• Served as State Secretary and then Menteri Besar of Selangor; Secretary General, Treasury Malaysia; Chief Secretary Malaysia and Secretary to the Federal Cabinet; and Malaysia’s
High Commissioner to United Kingdom.
• Joined Rotary Club of Kuala Lumpur in 1956.
• Served as club President of the Rotary Club of Kuala Lumpur in 1965/66.
• Elected to serve as District Governor of District 330 in 1975/76.
• Founding Chairman of Yayasan Kelab-Kelab Rotary Malaysia.
• Recognition of all contributions of RM 2,500 are named after as Jamil Rais Fellows (JRF).
Organisation
• Registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee.
• Recognised as a Charitable Foundation and exempted from tax.
• Members are Malaysian Past District Governors and non-Past District Governors.
• Members elected a Board of Trustees (maximum 15).
• The Board of Trustees elects a Chairman to head the Board.
• Incumbent District Governors of District 3300 and District 3310 who are Malaysians are members of the Board of Trustees by virtue of their office.
• Yayasan Officials, Coordinators and Sub-Committee members are co-opted from Rotary Club of Malaysia.
