DISTRICT NOMINATING COMMITTEE

     FUNCTIONS
     · To select the best available candidate for the position of District Governor by adopting the following terms of reference:
     · Service to the District and District Offices in which the candidate had served.
     · Participation in district activities such as District Conferences, District Assemblies, Group Discussion Leaders and President-Elect Training Seminars,
     New Generations related activities and other district functions or projects.
     · Support for and contributions to the Rotary Foundation of RI and Yayasan Kelab Kelab Rotary Malaysia
     · Social standing of the candidate in his/her vocation and the community, of sound financial position and good credit worthiness.
     · Service to non-Rotary organizations of professional, social or sports nature,
     · Leadership qualities.
     · All things being equal, opportunities shall be given to candidates from clubs with no Past Governors.

     Procedures in selection of the District Governor Nominee
     · The bio-data of the candidates shall be given to all members of the Nomination Committee.
     · The Nominating Committee shall fix a date, venue and time of the meeting(s).
     · The disqualification criteria of members of the Nominating Committee passed at the District Conference shall prevail.
     · The Nominating Committee shall fix a date, time and venue to interview the candidates.
     · The candidates shall be informed of the date, venue and time of interview.
     · Any member of the Nominating Committee who appears fifteen minutes after the scheduled time shall be automatically disqualified and shall not be
     entitled to participate in the Nominating Committee any further.
     · Any candidate who fails to appear at the scheduled time or within ten minutes thereafter of the scheduled time shall be disqualified.
     · The Nominating Committee shall propose a series of questions which must be used for all the candidates.
     · Upon the conclusion of the interview, the Nominating Committee shall select from the candidates a district governor nominee.
     · If there are more than two candidates selected, the candidate with the lowest votes cast shall be eliminated through separate voting by the Nominating
     Committee members until only one candidate shall remain.
     · The 15 points referred to at rule 3.1.4 of the District Rules & Procedures, shall be applied and used by the Nominating Committee during their discussion
     in choosing the final candidate.
     · In announcing their choice candidate, the District Nominating Committee shall provide the rationale for their choice.
