Christiana Garofalidou is a professional visual
artist who experiments with various media
such as painting, drawing, mixed media tech-
niques, embroidery, laser cutting, laser en-
graving and Installation. She has taken part in
many group exhibitions both in the UK and in
Athens, Greece where she comes from.
Since 2010, she has been exploring different
cultures and the relationship between them,
not only from the artistic but also from the so-
cial point of view. She is also interested in
journeys through the act of walking. In 2012,
through her work, Christiana explored the
idea of pilgrimage and its stages.
The above-mentioned themes intrigued her
to examine the way people perceive the city
they live in. She has transformed the concep-
tion of painting in her work – and the concep-
tion or perception of maps too.
