In her work, she used the map cut outs in order to
create a powerful visual experience for the viewer.
Her decision on which shapes to use is based on the
visual result. She is interested in the visual experi-
ence, to create balance and unified environment for
the viewer. She is looking into color, shapes, scale,
orientation, location and their relation with one anoth-
er. On the one hand, she wants to see where the
maps will take her, on the other hand, the viewer will
be able to reflect on the work and after having a clos-
er look to identify that the blocks of color are map
fragments.
Through the colors she used, she wants the viewer to
experience the complexity and to wonder if this is the
painting he thought it was?
