Indoor Environmental Quality
Maintaining the quality of the indoor environment is of crucial importance to ensure the comfort and health of our employees. A pleasant workspace is also conducive to higher productivity and increased focus amongst our employees. We are committed to provide high standards of air quality, lighting and thermal comfort, for all visitors and occupants of our buildings.
During the reporting period, we conducted two major projects to help us improve the indoor environmental quality of our buildings:
Restacking project
We initiated the restacking project to reorganise and improve the atmosphere and environment of the workspace. Management o ces and meeting rooms were migrated from the windows to the centre, allowing for more ambient light. Our workspaces are now furnished with more open lounge areas next to the windows encouraging a relaxed and collaborative work atmosphere.
Improving noise and thermal comfort
The o ce restacking project at the Jockey Club Headquarters also replaces traditional fan coil units with Direct Current (DC) motors with 9 steps fan speed control. The bene ts of this substitution include reduction in heat dissipation and the minimisation of noise levels leading to an improved workspace environment. The programmable thermostat stepless control achieved 73% to 81% energy savings.
Construction Waste Management
Property strives to minimise environmental impact by reducing the amount of construction waste generated and embracing sustainable waste management practices. We require our contractors to establish a waste management plan, outlining procedures for the handling and management of waste inclusive of storage,
recycling, and disposal. We also require that our contractors record the amount
