Latest Technologies Review
Property understands the importance of reducing its reliance on fossil fuels and transitioning to renewable energy sources to reduce our emissions footprint. During our reviews of the latest technologies, we balance performance gains against the cost e ectiveness of adoption. We invest in technologies that promise signi cant performance improvements. In terms of alternative energy, we continue to explore solutions as part of our goal to create lasting value and greater utility.
Solar Systems
Property investigated the use of solar energy as an alternative energy source. We installed Solar Hot Water Systems on the SCTC rooftop to provide hot water for washrooms. We reviewed the e ectiveness of the solar collectors and found that their tested e ciency is 64%.
Operational Waste Management
The Club understands that waste management is a vital part of its sustainability chain and has positioned itself as an early adopter of available solutions to manage waste. It embraces “use wisely, waste less” as an approach to waste reduction and material conservation. Property aligns with this approach and utilizes sound waste management practices following our Waste Management Hierarchy:
To support the Government’s target of reducing the amount of waste sent to land lls, the Club formulated a Waste Reduction and Management Plan with measures and practices to reduce waste, coordinate disposal, and promote the use of sustainable resources. Property has introduced the initial stages of a comprehensive Waste Stream Management process that separates recyclable from general waste thereby keeping paper, plastic, metal and glass out of the land ll.
