Supporting Lifelong Learning and Career Aspirations through Sta Development Programmes
The Property Department encourages continuous education and on-the-job training. We have implemented a number of internal and external programmes for our employees that enhance their skills and knowledge for career advancement.
The Self-development Scholarship Programme provides our sta the opportunity to leverage Club subsidies to pursue career-related education opportunities. During the reporting period, this scholarship programme has assisted several sta members to earn professional diplomas and master’s degrees relevant to their career trajectory, including building services engineering, property investment, and facilities management. We also encourage our sta grade employees to participate in the Hong Kong Education Bureau’s Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) scheme, at the Club’s expense.
Our management level sta track individual career development through the Performance Management System, which incorporates customised plans and we are also developing a detailed Leadership Competency Model to clearly identify training needs and monitor sta development. This will help to ensure that our leaders are equipped with the appropriate skills to lead the department.
The Facilities Management section’s Skills Matrix Framework outlines a detailed list of skills required for each position, which helps line managers and supervisors determine an employee’s future development opportunities. In addition, it establishes individual skills development programmes and tracks progress.
The Facilities Management Skills Matrix Framework focus areas:
“Property plays a key role in supporting and implementing the Club’s sustainability initiatives. Though we face resistance, we engage with our partners to change minds. Sceptics eventually recognise that sustainable measures serve not only our company and the world, but also themselves.”
