to a full understanding of our self-perception requires constant reflection, and it can be tough to be honest with ourselves. A person who values themselves based on what they possess will find it difficult to curb their spending, and that’s why it is essential to change our perspective. Let’s be clear – thinking and believing that money and possessions define us is not true. Money will never determine who we are, but it can control us and, therefore, seem to identify us.

The only exception, of course, is when we buy to satisfy genuine needs and the purchases made are at lower-than-regular prices.
