Amenhotep IV (Akhenaten): He succeeded his father on the
throne of the country, but he did not imitate his father who lived
in luxury and fun, but rather he went to make a religious
revolution, as he called for the monotheism which meant uniting
all the gods in the form of one god, Aten, and Akhenaten was the
mediator between the people and the god, and thus he antagonized
all the priests. related to other gods, so he left Thebes and headed
for a new city, Tell el-Amarn, and built there temples, palaces,
royal tombs, and the tombs of the state’s leaders.
After his death, they abandoned the worship of the Aten because
he was the mediator in this worship, and under his rule, most of
the states belonging to Egypt became independent.
