Activities 1.2 Nets of Cylinder

Let’s Observe

We often see cans of milk and cans of other food and
beverage products in everyday life. A can is one of those
cylinder objects. Try to observe the objects around you.

Let’s Do It!

Prepare the following materials and tools:

 Milk can that has a label on it
 Pen or marker
 Ruler

 Paper glue
 Book/Paper

Follow these steps:

1. Open label carefully so it doesn't tear.
2. Paste the label on the book/paper.
3. Then, trace the base of the can under the label.
4. Also trace the top of the can on the label.

5. Then observe the results of your work.
6. Re-sketch the shape / plane obtained from the steps above.

7. Take photos of your traced and sketch results.
