 The Night
The leaves start to settle, only to be awakened by my whisper The clouds cease to exist, only to be brought back even quicker The sun goes away, only to be replaced by the moon
The cold welcomes itself, only to be gone by noon
The chirpy birds go to bed, only to be haunted by the owls The mosquitos take a break, for the crickets to begin to prowl.
The mist settles, humidity is gone
The dryness will stay for long ‘till dawn
When the moon comes, a different type of light is displayed As the high tide comes and goes, at night it always stayed The night is calm, and all is well
The night is quiet as a shell
When the sun and the moon switch shifts, all eyes awaken As the sun begins to rise, the sky is undertaken

 A Crush
Every day it’s the same old story.
My heart skips a beat when he looks at me. It’s impossible, so I’m not even sorry,
But I imagine what we could be.
He’s got rosy cheeks,
And eyes filled with an ocean. His nose sprinkled with freckles, It’s like a magic potion.
He’s tall, good at sports,
And he keeps his grades high. Maybe he’ll send texts,
But I won’t reply.
Oh Romeo, oh Romeo, Why can’t I be your Juliet? Some days it gets hard, But it’s harder to forget.
So, I keep dreaming on,
And think about what could be - It’s called a crush,
And it has crushed me.
