        Economic Update

As we navigate through the year 2020 and all the challenges that have been
presented, we have discovered how resilient  the Municipality of Brighton is. Residents
have rallied together to support one another in all facets of our community, whether it
be the Community Food Bank, Virtual Canada Day Event, checking in with a neighbour
or supporting our local business community.  The new “normal” has required all of us
to adjust our routines, lifestyles and business practices and Brighton businesses have
done an amazing job of doing this while creating a safe space for customers.

The Municipality of Brighton is known for its picturesque landscape as a waterfront
community while being home to one of Ontario’s most popular provincial parks as
Presqu’ile Park draws visitors every year from across the globe. Even though the visitor traffic is much
less than a normal season, the Municipality is proud to work with its partners to promote the commute to
local regional tourism, making Brighton the perfect stay-cation destination or day trip adventure.

Even though the times are uncertain, what is certain is that Mayor, Council and Staff within
the Municipality of Brighton are dedicate to support our local businesses in whichever way they can.
