Appendix J - Koumi’s Pedagogic Video Design Principles
I utilised aspects of Koumi’s Pedagogic Video Design Principles throughout the
various versions of the video as follows:

Hook The video would begin with shots of play in Gaelic games
capturing the attention of the audience. An opening segment
                                              contextualises what is to come.

Signpost Each video segment would be headed with a title screen and
utilise graphics from the Coach 10 Model

Facilitate Attentive Each video segment would be formatted as a response to a
                         Viewing question

Enable Each video segment would include cut aways of familiar scenes
Constructive from the playing and coaching of Gaelic games helping to
Learning activate existing knowledge and embed new.

Sensitise A consistent style would be used across each segment using
headers and footers and including Coach 10 graphics. Real
sounds of play and coaching bring the story to life

Elucidate Simple graphics and a conversational tone help communicate a
                                              clear message

Reinforcement Closing each segment with a repeat of the relevant graphic and
using key words in text reinforce learning and relationship to
                                              model

Consolidation As well as the above ‘close’ to each segment, a closing
