Cape Akritas

The southernmost point of Messinia.
Across the way is the Venetiko island,

which together with Sapientza, Schiza,

Amariani (Agia Marina) and the rocky
islets Two Brothers, Boba and Egg are the

Messinian Oinousses.

A short distance from Cape Akritas lies

the deepest point of the Mediterranean
(the Oinousses shaft), an underwater

trench with a depth of 5,267 meters.
