II. 却 (què) however :

却 is an adverb, it occurs before the verb phrase in the second
clause, referring the event of the second clause is contrary to
expectation of the first.

● 上周的国外旅行，爸爸他什么都带了，却忘了带相

机，所以我们只好在当地再买一台新的。

● 伟华虽然上课的时候很安静，从不问问题，但是他的

成绩却是班上第一名。

● 我好不容易才存钱买到的手机，却不小心掉进马桶里

了。

III. 透过 (tòuguò) by means of / via :

The preposition 透过 describes the way, method, or mode by
which something is done.

● 我们很久没有联络了，我是透过脸书才知道他最近的

消息。

● 雅萍和婷玉是透过戏剧社认识的，他们两个十分喜爱

写剧本。

● 透过网路，现在我们可以不用出门，就知道天下的事

了。
