It did not take long for the Philippine Prov-
ince to decide to accept the bishop’s invita-
tion. Accompanied by Mother Madeleine
DENOGA, the Provincial Superior, six Filipi-
no Sisters set foot for the first time in Ban-
jarmasin, the capital city of South Kaliman-
tan, on October 2, 1967.
They were welcomed with open hands and
hearts. The six pioneers were:
1. Sister Noemi ARNALDO
2. Sister Clement Xavier ROLA
3. Sister Marie Carmen PANGILINAN
4. Sister Marie Alexine DARIO
The Sisters left the Philippines for Indonesia
on September 24, 1967 and stayed in Jakarta.
