GROUND'S ON FIRE! (in Polish "ziemia parzy")
This game is usually played outside in definited
location with many elements that you can jump or
climb on. It is mostly played in the playground but also
in big classrooms or halls where are the objects that
can be used in the game (eg. benches, desks, chairs,
tables, ect.) There are at least 3 people in this game
(the more the better). There is a "Sleepwalker" who
tries to catch the other players with his/her eyes
blindfolded or if he can't do it he can shout "ground's
on fire!".
Command: "Ground's on fire!" (ziemia parzy!)
How to play:
All players stand in the circle. The designated person
"Sleepwalker", has his/her eyes blindfolded and he/she
walks into the circle. He/she is turned around a few
times and he counts to ten. The other players run away.
A person with folded eyes must catch one of the
players and they have to be very quiet to make it
difficult to catch them. When he/she catches somebody
he/she must say who is it. If he's wrong, the game goes
on but if not the caught person becomes the
"Sleepwalker". During the game the "Sleepwalker" can
aslo shout "ground's on fire!" (ziemia parzy!) at any
time and all players must jump up on any object placed
around. The last person who does not manage to
escape up on any object becomes the "Sleepwalker"
too. Every time there must be one person who is
chosen to observe the game and decide who was the
last person to "leave" the ground.
