SWIMMER 2

        Requirements:
        A THREE STAGE BADGE
        (Badges for successive stages may be worn at the same time).
        Stage 2
         Where possible, requirements 1 to 4 to be performed in shirt and shorts.
        Perform the following:

               1. Tread water for 1 minute in a vertical position.
               2. A surface dive into water of at least 1.5 metres in depth to touch the
               bottom with both hands.
               3. Mushroom float for 5 seconds.
               4. Swim across the width of the bath on any front stroke.  Halfway, turn over
               to the back and finish the distance on any back stroke of your choice.
               5. In water of at least 1.5 metres in depth, plunge (dive and glide) as far as
               possible.
               6. In water of at least 1.5 metres in depth, commencing with the appropriate
               racing start, swim 25 metres front or back crawl.
               7. In water of at least 1.5 metres in depth, commencing with the appropriate
               racing start, swim 25 metres breast or butterfly stroke.





                           SPORTSMAN


        Requirements:

        1. Have a good knowledge of the rules or laws of two outdoor games such as
        Rugby, Football, Soccer, Cricket, Tennis, Volleyball and Basketball.
        Be able to act as an official such as referee, linesman or umpire in a game
        organized by young people (School, Youth Club, Troop or Pack).
        2. Take an active part in one team game as in one above and show reasonable
        proficiency and evidence of a sportsman like approach to the game over a period of
        6 months.
        3. Be able to discuss with the Examiner the advantages which can be gained from
        participation in sport and show that you have a good knowledge of the history of
        two games chosen by yourself.
        4. Know the names and performances of two international or Local Sports person.
        Be able to discuss these personalities with the Examiner and show that you have
        made a study, or have carried out some research, concerning the sports person of
        your choice.
