SPEAKERS PROFILE

Ms. Lay Bee YAP
Group Director (Architecture & Urban Design), Urban Redevelopment Authority

Lay Bee YAP is the Group Director of Architecture and Urban Design at the Urban
Redevelopment Authority (URA), the national land use planning and conservation
authority of Singapore. With 20 years of master planning and urban design
experience, Lay Bee leads her group in developing strategic and urban design plans, as
well as policies and promotion programmes for Singapore.

Lay Bee also leads the Urban Design Technology team, which is responsible for
integrating the use of digitalised 3D modelling into URA’s urban design workflow. She
will tap into her wealth of urban design experience and share about how URA’s
adoption of 3D digital technology has enabled planners and architects to make
well-informed planning decisions.

Lay Bee completed her Bachelor degree and Graduate Diploma in Architecture at the
Bartlett School of Architecture in University College London and the Master of
Science Programme in Architecture & Urban Design at the Graduate School of
Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP) at Columbia University. Lay Bee is
also a registered architect in Singapore
