A PAIR OF RITUAL POURING TRIPOD

Qianlong nine-character mark and of the
period, cyclically dated 1738
The vessels raised on three splayed feet, the
cylindrical body with a scrolled diaper pattern,
leiwen, the wide spout flanked with two posts
and a loop handle, the underside marked 乾
隆三仲冬吉旦製, or ‘Made on an auspicious
day in the second month of winter in the third
year of the reign of Qianlong’; together with
another two archaistic vessels, jue, and a
tripod incense burner, wooden cover.
Each: 16cm (6 1/4in) high (5).

A GILT-BRONZE ‘DRAGONS’ CANDLE
HOLDER
The elongated oval tray with dish-shaped
rim incised with a keyfret border, standing on
four small bracket feet, the centre with two
applied, sinuous, writhing dragons encircling
the later-mounted cup.
