A PAIR OF RED AND POLYCHROME LACQUER CHAIRS
Mid Qing Dynasty
Each broad square seat resting on square-sectioned legs braced by
a four-part stretcher, the scrolled backrest flanked by hooked arms,
decorated throughout in Wanli style with polychrome designs of birds
amidst blossoming branches, surrounded by foliage, scrollwork and
key fret bands set against a red ground.
