A FAMILLE ROSE TABLE SCREEN AND HARDWOOD STAND
Republic Period
Depicting a scholar dressed in long flowing robes arriving at a fenced
terrace, greeted by two dignitaries attired in official dress and armour
holding scrolls and banners under a gnarled pine tree and flowering
branches borne on rockwork, all within a coral-red border highlighted
in gilt with bats, lotus flowers and pomegranates borne on leafy
foliage, mounted on a wood frame reticulated with further floral
scrolls, wood stand. The framed panel 53.3cm (21in) x 41.6cm (16
3/8in) (2).
