The cups we see in the early Tang Dynasty were originally introduced into China by Sogdian and Sassanian
            merchants and actual silversmiths plying the Silk Road. The example [below] is a gold and silver gilt 7th century
            cup  found  in  the  Imperial  Chinese  shipwreck  hoard  found  at  Hejiacun,  Xi’an.  These  stemmed  cups  became
            increasingly more Chinese in style during the 300 years this style of cup was mad
