Page 166 - Chinese SIlver By Adrien Von Ferscht
P. 166

A superb example of how a Canton silversmith was capable of producing a kettle and stand of the highest
quality and elegance that could rival any London silversmith. It is a feat of skill and ingenuity but it is also
extraordinary how a Chinese mind could so totally grasp the subtleties of English silver making when he
probably had never even been further than the city calls of old Canton.

This example dates to circa 1825
