CHEN ZHI JI
Shanghai
circa 1890-1930
A working silversmith and a mark not often found. Generally the mark is seen in conjunction with retail
silversmiths’ marks such as Luen Wo.
A pair of circa 1895-1900 posy vases
carrying the mark of Chen Zhi Ji only.
However, the vases are very much in
the style of Luen Wo, decorated with a
prunus motif against a finely planished
background.
