HUI XING [aka: HUI HSING]
            Jiŭjiāng, Jiangxi Province
            circa 1850-1895

A rare silver mark but when it is found it will almost certainly be upon a silver item of the highest quality.

Circa 1865-75, this reticulated bowl [above] carries the Hu Xing silver mark.
Apart from the Jiujang connection, there are strong similarities between the
style of this bowl and the style of silver work found on Tu Mao Xing silver. In
particular the way the dragon is fashioned and the use of free-form thick silver
wire-work - between the bamboo form legs of the bowl and the ‘fangs’ of the
dragon [right] that come from a Tu Mao Xing item.

It is my opinion there was a link between these two workshops,
