KC [MAKER’S NAME UNDOCUMENTED]
Canton
circa 1825-1900
This is a mark that has been somewhat of a mystery since research began back in the 1960s; the name behind
the mark is still unknown. There is a school of thought that KC is an alternative mark for the retail silversmith
Khe Cheong. There is no evidence to support this and the style of items carrying the KC mark is different to that
of Khe Cheong.
This bowl [below] weighs almost 2000gm. the bowl is supported by three applied dragons that face forward, a
flaming pearl forms the centrepiece to the front of the bowl.
