                                                            Tsingtao  was  a  German-occupied  territory  from
                                                            1891-1914  and  after  that  became  a  Japanese-occupied
                                                            terrify from1914-1922. The Germans developed a thriving
                                                            port there.

                                                            The city was known by the Germans as Kiautschau Bai.
