A  particularly  interesting  filigree  silver
                                                                           card  case  that  comes  with  its  original
                                                                           silk covered box [see below right]. The
                                                                           most  interesting  feature  of  this  case
                                                                           though  is  the  very  unusual  label
                                                                           attached to the box lid. Khecheong was
                                                                           one  of  the  oldest  “shops”  in  Canton,
                                                                           but  this  is  the  first  instance  of  the
                                                                           name  appearing  as  Khechong
                                                                           [Khecheoung] Ming.  While it is almost
                                                                           certainly  the  same  Khecheong.  further
                                                                           research isa now ongoing to verify the
                                                                           addition of “Ming” to the name. It could
                                                                           well  be  a  branch  shop  belonging  to  a
                                                                           relative of Khecheong - a very common
                                                                           occurrence  with  retail  shops  of  the
                                                                           time.
