LAO FENG XIANG
Pínghú, Zhejang Province
circa 1895-1940
A branch retail silversmith store of the main Lao Feng Xiang in Shanghai. Pínghú is an outer suburb of Shanghai
on the coast. The pair of vases [below] are highly unusual in the style of engraving that has been employed,
made all the more dramatic since it is set against a plain polished ground.
