The tankard [right] is thought to
            date  circa  1860.  It  is  interesting
            inasmuch  as  it  has  a  straight
            canister  form  instead  of  being
            tapered.  The  workmanship  is
            consistent with a high standard -
            the bamboo foliate decoration is
            superbly executed.





































                                                 The  tankard  [left]  is  decorated  with  a  continuous  repoussé  battle
                                                 scene against a textured ground. Unlike the previous two tankards,
                                                 this one is not double-skinned.
