TU TIAN XING [AKA: TU TIAN HING]
Jiŭjiāng
circa 1890-1930
A retail silversmith whose items
are quite rare to find.
The Jiujang silversmiths seemed
to have quite a definitive
style.,noticeably from Canton,
Hong Kong and Shanghai.

silversmith’s network was one of
the most convoluted and complex.
The style is usually grand in that
strange fusion of the high
Victorian style and the ornate high
Chinese style.
As with all the Jiujang
silversmiths, the quality of
workmanship is extremely high.
This large tray is a rare example of
recorded silver from Tu Tian Xing.
There is a similarity between this
and the style of Tu Mao Xing and
this is now a focus of research to
determine whether there was a
connection.
