               A TIANHUANG ‘BUDDHIST LIONS’ SQUARE SEAL
               QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
               The square seal is surmounted by a finial in the form of a lion cub clambering on its
               mother’s back. The side is incised with a seven-character Song dynasty poem excerpt,
               dated to the second month of spring, following a signature of Shihong, Shanghai. The seal
               face is carved with the same poem excerpt. The stone is of a rich honey tone.
