stone of a very even white hue; the plaque
formed as an archaic axe, with taotie mask
and diaper decoration, flanked with two
stylised phoenix, box.

Comprising a rectangular plaque carved in
shallow relief with the tiger taming luohan,
the reverse with a mountainous landscape,
the second decorated with one of the
Hehe Twins, the reverse with a box and
an oversized lotus beside a four-character
inscription. Both 5.5cm (2 1/8in) high (2).

Two white jade plaques
The first, of rectangular shape, decorated to
the obverse with a leaping carp beneath a
two-character seal script square roundel, the
reverse with a poem; the second, of double
gourd form, incised with the characters ‘da ji
da li’, both carved from a very pale stone of
even tone. The largest 7cm (2 3/4in) high (2).
