coiled over the back, to the side of the well-
defined backbone, the pale green stone with
mottled brown, mushroom and red flecked
markings.

A grey and russet jade ‘cat and
dragonfly’ group
Late Ming Dynasty
The recumbent feline delicately carved with
diminutive features and clasping a dragonfly’s
wing in its mouth, the paws and fur finely
detailed, the sinuous curling tail tucked in and
peeking out of the left hind leg, the stone of a
pale grey tone with mottled white and russet
inclusions.

The recumbent lion carved in darker jade with
the head turned around to face the cub, the
young carved in pale grey-white jade, resting
on the rear haunch and flicked up tail.
