A CARVED YAOZHOU CELADON
MEASURE
NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY (960-1127)
The exterior of the globular body is combed
with parallel lines forming semi-circles on two
sides. The vessel is covered inside and out with
a celadon glaze of greyish-olive tone, pooling
at the recesses, stopping at the foot exposing the
grey body on the base.

CELADON BOWL
NORTHERN SONG-JIN DYNASTY,
11TH-12TH CENTURY
The bowl of rounded conical form is
carved to the centre of the interior with
a lotus flower, surrounded by combed
waves. It is covered overall with an olive-
green glaze, except for the unglazed foot
which has burnt orange in the firing.
