A CARVED LONGQUAN CELADON ‘LOTUS’ FLOWER POT
MING DYNASTY, 15TH CENTURY
The flower pot with rounded sides is carved on the body with a central frieze of
scrolling lotus, above a band of moulded upright petals and below a band of carved
detached floral blossoms, all below an everted barbed rim, the bottom with a
rounded drainage hole, covered overall with a thick glaze of sea-green tone.
