           A slightly larger tixi cinnabar lacquer tray dated to the first half of the
           17th century was sold at Christie’s, New York, 12 September 2019, lot   For a Yuan pre-cursor of this style of black lacquer reserved on a
           917. Whilst more square in format than ours it presents a very similar   cinnabar ground, see James C.Y.Watt and Barbara Brennan Ford,
