229 Dennis Hwang was born in Xiamen in 1941, but relocated to Taiwan.
DENNIS HWANG (HUANG ZHICHAO, BORN 1941) In 1971 he had his first exhibition in the United States, and settled in
Cat and flowers, 1992 New York the following year. The artist became close with Walasse
Mounted for framing, ink and color on paper, signed lower right, “92 Ting and Chuang Che, as well as becoming acquainted with
Zhichao Hwang”, with an artist’s seal reading Huang Zhichao. Karel Appel, the founder of the avant-garde CoBrA movement, an
48¾ x 32 ¼in (123.8 x 81.9cm) approach based on spontaneity and experiment.
