清康熙 青花「滕王閣序」題字棒槌大瓶

The impressive size of the present vase is a
testament to the technical ability of the potters,
creating a large ‘canvas’ allowing the portrayal
of landscape and literary subject matters. Large
vases decorated with a landscape scene and an
accompanying poem are unusual. However, see
a beaker vase depicted with the ‘Later Ode to
the Red Cliff’ by Song poet, Su Shi (1036-1101),
illustrated in the Complete Collection of Treasures of
the Palace Museum: Blue and White Porcelain with
Underglazed Red (III), Hong Kong, 2000, pl.32.

a landscape scene, sold in these rooms on 12 May
2011, lot 289.
