short foot to a an indented mouth, covered inside
and out with a glassy, brown-streaked black glaze
thinning to a burnt brown colour at the rim and
falling short of the foot.

Song Dynasty
The conical bowls rising from a short foot to a flared
rim, covered inside and out with a lustrous black
glaze finely streaked with russet ‘hare’s fur’ markings
thinning to russet at the rim, thickening and pooling
above the foot.

Song Dynasty
The bowls with rounded sides rising to an inverted
rim, covered on the interior and exterior with a
lustrous black glaze suffused with a rust-brown
‘hare’s fur’ pattern draining from the rim, the glaze
falling irregularly above the foot to reveal the reddish-
brown body.
The largest 9.6cm (3 6/8in) diam. (5).
