FIVE JIAN WARE ‘HARE’S FUR’ BOWLS
Song Dynasty
The bowls with rounded sides rising to an inverted
rim, covered inside and out with a rich black glaze
suffused with a rust-brown ‘hare’s fur’ pattern
draining from the rim on the interior and exterior, the
glaze falling irregularly above the foot exposing the
reddish-brown body.
The largest 10cm (3 7/8in) diam. (5).

Song Dynasty
With deep conical sides, the interior and exterior
covered with a lustrous dark brown glaze suffused
with silvery black streaks, the glaze ending irregularly
around the foot to expose a dark grey stoneware
body.
