A RARE BRONZE ‘LOTUS AND CHILONG’ YEN
YEN VASE
Incised Xuande two-character mark, Ming dynasty
Rising from a spreading foot to a tall neck with
a trumpet-shaped mouth, finely cast with fully
blossoming lotus issuing from foliate meanders, with
a lappet border separating the flaring neck flanked
by a pair of mythical beast handles, the rim incised
with key-fret.
