A RARE GOLD FILIGREE ‘PHOENIX’ BRACELET WITH
ORIGINAL IVORY BOX
Late Qing Dynasty
Superbly worked in filigree, with fine gold wires forming the multi-
layered decoration, the central section with a phoenix with wings
spread, flanked by a pair of phoenix, tree shrews and snakes; the
rectangular ivory box carved on the cover with a central cartouche with
figures under a willow tree by a pagoda, framed by rose petals in the
corners.
The bracelet, 18.3cm (7 3/16in) long, 18ct gold, 49.91g (2).

Late 19th century/ early 20th century
The rectangular box decorated in repoussé, the cover with a Thai royal
emblem framed by leaves and lotus blossoms within a rectangular
beaded border framed by further blossoms also around the sides, the
underside and interiors plain, Guanglong mark.
