the lama seated in dhyanasana on a double plinth base, with the right hand raised in vitarka mudra and the left resting on his lap
in samadhi mudra, with a shorn pate and articulated facial features, wearing a dhonka and voluminous patchwork robes

The present sculpture depicts a portrait of Lobzang Chokyi Gyaltsen (1570 - 1662), the First Panchen Lama, according to the
earlier system of ordering used by the Ganden Podrang and Lhasa administration. Lobsang Chokyi Gyaltsen tutored the Fifth Dalai
