A BLUE AND WHITE SLEEVE VASE See a comparable vase of similar form with related decoration sold in
Chongzhen our New Bond Street rooms, 6 November 2014, lot 208.
The cylindrical body rising from a gently flaring foot to a trumpet
mouth, the upper register finely painted with lotus sprays by a Two related but smaller vases are in the Palace Museum, Beijing,
riverside, with geese flying overhead, the subtly raised mid-section illustrated by Chen Runmin, Qing Shunzhi Kangxi Chao Qinghuaci,
with rockwork arrangements, above a stylised lotus leaf lappet Beijing, 2005, nos.55 and 56. Another example with related pendant
border. lappets and details such as the moon beneath the rim, dated 1628-
45.5cm (17 7/8in) high 44, is illustrated by J.Harrison-Hall, Ming Ceramics in the British
Museum, London, 2001, no.12:85.
