Qianlong seal mark and possibly of the period
The dish finely painted in imitation of the ‘heaping and piling’ of Ming
Dynasty cobalt blue, with a central lotus and arrowroot bouquet
surrounded with further floral meanders and a classic scroll motif
at the mouth rim, the exterior similarly decorated. 11.7cm (4 7/8in)
diam.

JARLET
18th century
The jar of baluster form, finely painted in cobalt blue simulating
‘heaping and piling’ with a scrolling lotus flower head meander,
above a lappet leaf border at the foot and a ruyi-head and whorl
diaper band at the wide shoulder, reserved on a lemon-yellow enamel
ground, the base ground down, box.
7.5cm (3in) high (2).
