                                                                              the covers with butterflies bordered by
                                                                              chrysanthemum blossoms and floral
                                                                              chevrons, each with a chrysanthemum finial,
                                                                              signed on the underside of the covers Kozan
                                                                              tsukuru (made by Kozan)

                                                                              and their accouterments, the nek painted
                                                                              with hiten (Buddhist angels) below a band
                                                                              of scrolling vines punctuated by Satsuma
                                                                              and Tokugawa family crests, and geometric
                                                                              borders, signed on the underside Dai Nihon
                                                                              Teikoku [] bijutsuhin seiga Satsuma Kinkodo
                                                                              Baigetsu ga and with the Shimazu family
                                                                              crest
