A GREEN-OVERLAY CLEAR GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE
1780-1850
The transparent green overlay is carved through to the transparent
ground which appears pink from a skim of red on the interior and
which deepens towards the foot of the bottle, with a katydid perched
on a lotus leaf on one side, and a lotus fower emerging from a large
curled lotus leaf on the other side.

The technique used to achieve the pink tone of the ground, by applying a

A BLUE AND WHITE FACETED PORCELAIN SNUFF BOTTLE
JINGDEZHEN KILNS, 1800-1900
The high-shouldered, tapering body is decorated on three facets as
a continuous scene of three women on a terrace, and on the fourth
facet with a seated female musician, all below clouds and birds.
