A SMALL BANDED AGATE SNUFF BOTTLE
1730-1850
Of fattened ovoid shape, the bottle has a large opaque white
inclusion with areas of translucent concentric banding in the reddish-
brown stone on both sides.

A BLACK-OVERLAY WHITE GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE
YANGZHOU SCHOOL, 1840-1900
The bottle is delicately carved through the opaque black overlay
to the opaque white ground on one side with three small pheasants
perched on rocks beneath a four-character inscription that reads tong
tang wu de (‘Five generations under the same roof’). The other side
351 is decorated with two confronting pheasants perched on branches
beneath an arching branch.
